Bangladesh is a densely populated country with a population of over 160 million people. Despite its progress in reducing poverty in recent years, Bangladesh still faces significant challenges in achieving SDG Goal 2 of zero hunger. According to the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2021 report, Bangladesh ranked 76 out of 116 countries with a score of 16.6, which is classified as "serious" hunger levels. The report also stated that 14.7 percent of the population is undernourished.
